SHOP RED WINE

Our red wines are shaped by site, season and patience. From vibrant, expressive styles to structured wines built for longevity, this collection reflects the depth and precision that define Levantine Hill.

Sourced exclusively from our single vineyard estate in the Yarra Valley, the fruit is handpicked and meticulously sorted, with select parcels gently foot stomped to preserve texture and aromatic purity. Crafted in small batches, each wine is treated individually to honour the character of the vintage.

Matured in fine French oak and estate bottled, every release is a true expression of place, made with intention from vine to bottle.

Special Edition 2018 Samantha’s Paddock Mélange Traditionnel
The block that the experts said could not be planted. The steepness of the land and the presence of underground, rocky seams and outcrops were thought to be insurmountable. But by the grace of god and the use of a diamond-tipped drilling rig for seven months, we installed the perfect vineyard. Planted to the traditional Left Bank varietals, Samantha’s Paddock is our antipodean sonnet to the Premier Cru vineyards of Bordeaux. It features restrained fruit characters with subtle hints of cassis, blackberry, fennel, oak and leather. A melange of fruit compote melds with savoury flavours, the silky texture winds through chalky tannins on the youthful tightly wound palate.

2020 Colleen's Paddock Pinot Noir
Inspired by the Grand Crus-sourced red wines of Burgundy, Colleen’s Paddock is perfectly positioned in a suntrap on a steep slope on the lowest and coolest part of the family estate. The steepness of the vineyard provides huge variations in ripening times, which means fruit picking in this tiny Pinot Noir block takes place over many weeks to ensure perfect ripeness in each small aliquot. It features a restrained, brooding and beguiling nose with hints of cranberry, sour cherry, wild raspberry, earth, stalks and charry oak. The palate weaves an uncommon mélange of supple fruits, herbal flavours and savoury elements through fine, integrated tannins, combining lightness with richness.

2018 Melissa's Paddock Syrah
Melissa’s Paddock, our smallest vineyard, is inspired by the very best Hermitage examples of the Rhône Valley. It is bottled as “Syrah” in recognition of its refined structure, savoury flavour and eloquently spiced nuance. It features a subtly brooding and slowly unfurling complex nose, featuring rumours of blackberry, liquorice, stalk, tar, spice, Christmas mince pies and charry oak. It features fine building with carriage of fruit through to the reverberating finish.

2022 Estate Pinot Noir
From the exemplary 2022 Yarra Valley vintage, which was characterised by minimal crops and tiny berries with abundant tannin, this is one of our most beguilingly complex and savoury projections of Pinot Noir. The palate backloads with an accumulation of fine-grained, seamlessly integrated tannins married with a fine line of natural acidity and complexing stalk influence. The wine confidently pushes through the full length of the palate to a sweeping lingering finish.

2022 Estate Syrah
Showing volume and body with elegance and restraint, this enticingly perfumed and refined medium-bodied cool-climate Syrah is the result of an assemblage of ten individual small batches sourced from Block 25 on our Maroondah Highway vineyard. Rated 95 by Stuart Knox from The Real Review

2022 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
From a warmer 2022 Yarra Valley vintage characterised by minimal crops and tiny bunches, this is one of our most savoury yet immensely varietal projections of Cabernet Sauvignon. The late season Cabernet Sauvignon benefited greatly, showing taut slow-building power in a medium-bodied framework with restraint and precision. This timelessly refined varietal expression is a love story to Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
