Story

Architecture

With the glorious Yarra Valley as our inspiration, the building that is home to the our restaurant and cellar door is a triumph of architecture, featuring grand high ceilings and sweeping curves that blend seamlessly into the surrounding hills.

This remarkable avant-garde space was created by Fender Katsalidis Architects, the same firm that designed the Museum of New and Old Art (MONA) in Tasmania, recognised as one of Australia’s great architectural achievements.

For Karl Fender, given free rein by close friends Colleen and Elias Jreissati, it was a labour of love. In Karl they knew they had someone who shared their obsessed with perfection. And he repaid their faith with a building of timeless grandeur.

With glorious views of the vineyard and the Yarra Valley across a spacious Village Green, the building and grounds also feature an array of wonderful paintings and sculptures by Australian artists.

We also spared no expense in building a winery that will help us make our wines even better.  Our new winery is not just about outstanding wine. It is also a symbol of our determination to leave a legacy for the ages – a building of truly stunning form defined by function.  To create such a winery, we partnered with the internationally renowned creative geniuses at Fender Katsalidis Architects. It sits naturally in the beautiful Yarra Valley landscape, forming a sculptural counterpoint to our cellar door and restaurant.
